“There is a face beneath this mask”

So Mithrandir is contemplating actually posting a few pictures of himself on facebook but is hesitant because of the long established perceptions he has created for himself–and others have placed on him–through the power of words. And no one likes ruined preceptions. And as V has so beautifully said, "There is a face beneath this mask but it's not me. I'm no more that face than I am the muscles beneath it or the bones beneath them." A quote that raises some interesting questions concerning self-idenity I might add.

Seriously, the established perceptions are just fun and games. We're not going to judge you, silly. 🙂

ha. i knew this day would come. not the day you would decide to post photos, but the day you started to regret all those perceptions you built up for yourself. i knew they would be a problem.consider it a step towards trusting us more. we've all done it, now it's your turn. we don't expect anything, and it's not as hard as you think. sure, you may be gorgeous, but you may also be average or ugly. what you look like has nothing to do with what we think of you. how could it?

Well, I'm not really afraid of being judged. I just hate to ruin the mystery I guess.

Of course you should recall that most of my friends on fb already know what I look like. So it's probably more of a step toward conforming to the norms of society. Or toward trusting you guys. 😉

He'll post a picture and it'll be one of those blurry 50 feet away distance photos where you can't distinguish any physical features.

Well, even then I think you could at least determine whether or not I was a 500 lb Sasquatch.

umm….i was talking about posting photos. is that what you were talking about??John, my only advice to you is never ever post a photo of you sitting on a toilet. that's just like the creepiest thing anyone could do.

I don't know, I may have to now.And yes, that is what I was talking about.

sorry, the first part was in reply to Rich. the second part – well, no one can do a toilet scene like Rich can, so i would think carefully before you try it. are you sure you have the right butt for it?and where are the photos?

  11. 09/26/2008 at 5:10 pm

Of course I have the right arse for it.

    Photos? What photos?

  13. 09/27/2008 at 9:46 am

I'm going to judge you by the way you look, dude.

  14. 09/28/2008 at 1:18 pm

i might judge you by the way you look. Whether i do or not will depend on the what you look like….I believe that this will finally settle the matter of your sexuality. especially if what you post is just a picture of a naked you, holding a picture of ben in front of your crown jewels. 🙂
